The area around the Mols Laboratory
The area around the Mols Laboratory is approximately 1.5 km2 and is part of the habitat area H186, which has valuable nature variations such as heath, pastures, unmanaged forests . Comprehensive ecological science has been conducted in the area since 1941, for example within agricultural ecology and landscape preservation.
The nature in Mols Bjerge is considered a hotspot for biodiversity in Denmark. Especially the insect fauna is unique as well as the many plants found in the dry and nutrition-poor pastures.
