The African Savannah
Back in 1947 the museum curators joined a hunting expedition in Kenya. The result can be viewed in this authentic and unique exhibition of wild animals. Get close to antilopes, zebras, lions and bavians and get a feeling of their environment through dioramas.
The exhibition tells the story of the unique savannah, which is one of the few places in the world where you may still see flocks of graising animals and where numerous species live together. Each specie has their own pattern of behavior and place in the food chain and a natural balance is upheld - a balance that is threathned by human interactions and climate change.
Today, expeditions are no longer a part of the agreed way of gathering collections.
