Cemeteries
Cemeteries are located throughout the city and are large green areas. They are often quite old and therefore they have a high continuity. Often they contain many large, old trees and varied bush plantations. As the lawns are usually not very big, cemeteries are often quite “dense” as a city nature type.
Many species accompany big, old trees. These are species such as woodpeckers, tree creepers, longhorn beetles and other insects in addition to mushrooms. Old cemeteries can contain a high biodiversity of mushrooms. Furthermore, the lawns can hold many grassland species if they are old and non-fertilised.
In general, the species found in a cemetery are Danish with the exception of the gravesites where the plantation is decided by relatives.
